It’s peculiar to note the court applies its Constitutional Standard in this situation – against the interests of a people for which the Constitution itself was not designed for.
In order to protect the legacies of Native people and their properties Congress, at the behest of activists, enacted ICWA to insure our futures couldn’t be indirectly stolen from us through the adoption of our children.
Very sad day for our people as well as the kids caught between the bloodlines.
