It’s past time to start calling out those corrupt tribal officials. Robert Smith of Pala is a proven liar, based on his own writings to this family.

We are allowing thuggery, violations of civil and human rights, apartheid on reservations like Pechanga of Temecula, all with the tacit approval of the federal government

Thank you for your support once again. Robert Smith and the Pala EC have been accused of crimes ranging from theft, discrimination, assault, sexual perversion, rape, drug use, civil rights violations, to murder. They have never denied any of their wrongdoing. Instead they claim tribal sovereignty, believing that their crimes will go unpunished because there is a law that protects them. As you say, it is past time for people to stand against corrupt tribal officials. There is absolutely no sense of moral indignation shown amongst our leaders. We have pleaded with federal employees, congressmen, senators, governors, judges, law enforcement, and even private citizens to speak out against these criminal actions.

No one is willing to decry their criminal actions. Instead these criminal Tribal Officials get publicity for their donations to political causes, their opposition to online gaming, their positions on committees and groups, their ability to defeat lawsuits against them, and their use of tribal funds to expand their power and notoreity. No one exposes their criminal actions and agendas. It is a sickness in the political environment where human rights violations in foreign nations are decried, and those here at home are promoted. Do you hear that? Human Rights violations on American soil are promoted and protected because the actions are committed by Tribal Leaders who make campaign contributions and fund lobbyists.

All those who refused to stand up will discover that Indians no longer want to fund hypocrites. We will spend our money to defeat you in the next election. It is a calculated risk that you have lost. No sorrow from us.

Maybe the answer is to form a new tribe with the Riverside Cherokees and take over Diamond Valley Recreation Area.

We will wait for the AS-IA’s ruling. We are not ready to abandon the pursuit of our heritage. Merging with another tribe is what caused this problem in the first place. The Luisenos are attempting to remove Cupenos from the tribe, even though it is the Cupenos that have Federal Recognition. This fight is far from over.
