While the publication date is still months away, it’s worth highlighting that Stephen Pevar is busy updating his important work, “The Rights of Indians and Tribes,” its fourth edition. Importantly, this edition will be published by Oxford University Press.
All of this is a very exciting development. My mother’s dogeared copy of the second edition was my introduction to the broad contours of federal Indian law.

This is a wonderful resource and Stephen will once again be presenting at the SAIGE conference in Tulsa Oklahoma June 13-17. There will be an indian law emersion program available with the some great presenters including Walter Echohawk and Mr. Pevar
I think I probably refer people to this book more than any other. I always have a few copies on hand and often give them away to colleagues who seem genuinely interested in learning more about tribes and Indians.
