The 3 new MPs include Innu leader Peter Penashue (Conservative – in Labrador riding); Cree leader Romeo Saganash, (NDP – in Abitibi – Baie-James – Nunavik – Eeyou, in northern Quebec); Innu Jonathan Genest-Jourdain (NDP – Quebec riding of Manicouagan, south and west of Labrador).
The 4 re-elected MPs, all Conservatives include: Leona Aglukkaq (Inuit in Nunavut); Rob Clarke (Cree in the Saskatchewan riding of Desnethé – Missinippi – Churchill River); Shelly Glover (Métis in the Manitoba riding of Saint Boniface); and Rod Bruinooge (Métis in Winnipeg South).
