    A very well written article. The fact is the name is racist and its image as well. The idea that any race can be reduced to merely being a pawn or symbol of a game is incredulous. The simple fact is that the it reduces native peoples to the same level as animals. We become no better than lions, bears or panthers. We are seen as less then human regardless of the true meaning of the name or supposed honor they are attempting to give.We should never allow another race to define us nor should we become accepting of insults however they may be shown. Racism is often not obvious. If redskins is not offensive let them show a potato as they mascot rather then a face of a warrior.
