 Request for Presentation Proposals

The National American Indian Court Judges Association (NAICJA) invites presentation proposals for the 44th Annual National Tribal Judicial and Court Clerks’ Conference which will be held on October 8-10, 2014 at the Cherokee Nation’s Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  NAICJA’s Annual Conference offers innovative and timely information through high quality presentations by knowledgeable speakers. In 2014, the theme of the conference is “Celebrating Tribal Justice Innovations and Success.” NAICJA is presenting topics that highlight the broad spectrum of innovative and creative American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian and First Nation tribal justice system approaches utilized in addressing crime and resolving disputes.  For tribal court clerks, NAICJA is providing information on best court administration practices and emerging court technology necessary to support the tribal justice system.

This is your opportunity to share your expertise and display your creativity by developing an original program for presentation.  Proposals specifically tailored to meet the needs of the NAICJA audience are strongly preferred. Proposals are due on or before February 28, 2014.

Great Lakes Fishery Trust RFP for Shore-based Angling and Tribal Commercial Fishing

The Great Lakes Fishery Trust has issued an RFP for grant proposals to increase access to Great Lakes Fisheries for shore-based angling and tribal commercial fishing.

The Great Lakes Fishery Trust (GLFT) is now accepting grant proposals under its Access to the Great Lakes Fishery funding category. Proposals can be submitted online at www.glft.org and are due by Friday, August 23, 2013.

The GLFT’s Access to the Great Lakes Fishery grant category focuses on significantly increasing access to the Great Lakes fishery for shore-based angling and tribal commercial fishing. Up to $500,000 is available for access projects.

The key intended outcomes foraccess grants to be awarded under this RFP are to:

  • Increase awareness of the GLFT as an access funder and increase the number of high-quality proposals received by the GLFT
  • Enhance shore-based Great Lakes recreational and tribal fishing opportunities through capital improvements where conditions are appropriate
  • Ensure that all jurisdictions on Lake Michigan with suitable site conditions have a public access site

The Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians (“Tribes”) are requesting proposals (“Tribal Court RFP”) to secure the services of a qualified consultant to perform facilitation and strategic planning services related to a federal Comprehensive Planning Demonstration Program grant to guide the Confederated Tribes’ justice system development to promote community wellness and safety.

Cayuga Indian Nation RFP: Tribal Economic Development

CAYUGA NATION — Request for Proposals
The Cayuga Nation in New York State requests proposals from qualified firms or individuals to advise the Nation in preparing a plan to develop the Nation’s economy.

The Cayuga Nation is a federally-recognized sovereign Indian nation.  It is a member nation of the Haudenosaunee, or Six Nations Confederacy. The Nation is governed according to a traditional Haudenosaunee and Cayuga law and custom. The Nation has approximately 485 enrolled citizens. The Nation currently does not own any land that is held in trust by the federal government.  It holds several parcels of land in fee simple ownership. The Treaty of Canandaigua of 1794 recognized a Cayuga Reservation of approximately 64,000 acres in Seneca and Cayuga Counties, New York. The boundaries of this Reservation have never been terminated. The Nation does not own or operate a casino or other gambling enterprise.  It owns and operates a number of small enterprises within the Cayuga Reservation. The Nation does not have a separate economic development corporation.
