General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Family Outreach Services Supervisor, the goal of the Native American Outreach Advocate is to empower and to foster the self-sufficiency of families and individuals in the Native American community. Employees in this job perform a variety of duties involving Native Americans to assure access and accessibility to health care services through a medical home and organized system of care. The Native American Outreach Advocate works at the grassroots level making home visits, assessing client needs, and making referrals to service providers. They provide assistance in making appointments, transporting clients to a health facility, and facilitating effective communication with health care providers. The Native American Outreach Advocate also assists clients in accessing other needed services and resources available in the community.

Brief description:
The Udall Foundation’s Native American Congressional Internship Program is a ten-week, summer internship for Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Washington, D.C. Interns work in Senate and House offices and federal agencies to gain an insider’s view of the federal government. The Udall Foundation is located in Tucson, Arizona, and operates a satellite office in Washington, DC.
The Program Manager for the Native American Congressional Internship Program manages strategy, implementation, and communication in four principal areas: applicant recruitment and intern selection; Congressional and federal agency office placements; intern housing and enrichment activities; and alumni development. The Program Manager reports directly to the Senior Program Manager for Education Programs, and works with the Program Manager for the Udall Scholarship Program on Native American recruitment for the undergraduate scholarship.

They both handle issues regarding reproductive freedom, voting rights, the rights of lesbian, bisexual and transgender as well as many other civil liberties issues.
The office seeks an experienced professional to serve as a Community Organizer in North Dakota at the newly created office in Fargo, ND, the Community Organizer will report to the Executive Director of the ACLU of South Dakota. Applicants must have distinguished academic credentials, excellent analytical skills and writing mechanics, and at least two years of experience in practice. Applicants with teaching experience are preferred.
Our legal writing professors are highly collaborative and teach from a common syllabus. Our department also benefits from a full-time writing specialist with a Ph.D. in English. In addition, in the fall semester the Law College’s research librarians teach beginning research skills.
Legal writing professors teach two courses per semester to either first-year J.D. students or foreign-educated lawyers in the College’s LL.M. program. Class size is approximately 18-20 in J.D. classes and 8-12 in LL.M. classes. On a rotating basis, legal writing professors may teach courses outside the writing program.
After a period of fixed-term contracts, legal writing professors are eligible for presumptively rolling three-year or five-year contracts. Legal writing professors are also eligible for teaching and research assistants, expenses for conference attendance, and summer research stipends. Legal writing professors attend faculty meetings and participate in Law College committees. The appointment is a nine month, academic year appointment.
