Coming this Tuesday: Hamline Journal of Public Law & Policy’s Civil Rights Act Symposium

If you’re in the Twin Cities area, please come to this exciting event hosted by Hamline Journal of Public Law & Policy. The day begins at 8:30 and ends at 4:15 on Tuesday 3/25. Speakers will include Brian Landsberg, David Bernstein, Phil Duran, and Chad Quaintance, and they will be addressing issues from Affirmative Action, to Public Accommodations, to Under-Resourced Populations in the Twin Cities. Aleman v. Chugash Materials

Earlier this year, the 4th Circuit held, per Wilkinson, J., that Section 1981 may be used to prosecute race discrimination claims against Alaskan Native Corporations. In short, the Court concluded that ANC’s are not sovereigns. A troubling conclusion unmoored from even Alaskan Supreme Court precedents like John v. Baker. Here are the materials:
