Deputy General Counsel or General Counsel. Santa Fe, NM. The General Counsel will be responsible for advising IAD in various areas of state and federal law. Oglala Sioux Nation Supreme Court

Associate Justices. Pine Ridge, SD. Remote may be possible. All Justices of the Supreme Court must have a Juris Doctorate from an A.B.A. accredited law school and must be licensed to practice law in a state or federal jurisdiction. Justices of the OSN Supreme Court shall be appointed by the Tribal Council and shall serve a six (6) year term. Closing date: open until filled.

Attorney General. Pine Ridge, SD. The Attorney General is the Chief Prosecutor of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. The Attorney General shall be directly responsible to the Oglala Sioux Tribal Council. The Attorney General may be dismissed upon ninety (90) days written notice by the Oglala Sioux Tribal Council. The Attorney General is responsible for providing administrative, management, and technical expertise in performing all administrative and programmatic functions of the Oglala Sioux Tribe Attorney General’s Office. The Attorney General will supervise a support staff of eight (8) persons, including four (4) Tribal Prosecutors and four (4) clerks, in the day-to-day operations of the office. The Attorney General shall be responsible for their work performance, time and attendance, approval and disapproval of leave, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, if necessary. The Attorney General will review training needs of staff and ensure that those needs are met to improve job performance. Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Indians

District Court Judge. Vineland, MN. The District Court Judge presides over the District Court of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Indians and exercises judicial authority over cases in law and equity for the specific purposes of promoting the general welfare, preserving and maintaining justice, and protecting the rights of all persons under the jurisdiction of the Non-removable Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. One (1) Recusal Judge will be selected to enter into a contract to serve as the presiding Judge, where a conflict of interest may exist or arise, in any Tribal Court case, within the Tribe’s jurisdiction. State of Michigan

Staff Attorney Licensing & Regulation Division. MI. As a staff level attorney, the incumbent is expected to handle various legal assignments. The incumbent will routinely handle assignments of varying legal complexity. Under the supervision of the Division Chief, the First Assistant or Section Head, the incumbent drafts legal advice, provides day to day legal representation for various state agencies, boards, commissions, officers, and employees, including representation in administrative proceedings and in state and federal courts. The Chief Judge is the chief administrator of both the trial and appellate courts of the San Manuel Tribal Court System and is the Chief Judge of the trial court.
