Department of Justice

Trial Attorney, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Washington D.C. The Natural Resources Section seeks to hire and cultivate talented trial attorneys and provides its lawyers with frequent and meaningful court experience in a variety of jurisdictions on a broad range of issues. Because of the diverse nature of our docket, the ideal candidate should be comfortable in a “first-chair” role in multiple complex cases, and have demonstrated and substantial experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including pre-trial discovery, presentation of oral argument, and examination of fact and expert witnesses. Assistant U.S. Attorney, Oklahoma City, O.K. The office is currently seeking applicants to fill one or more Assistant U.S. Attorney positions in the Criminal Division. Assignment to the Criminal Division may include responsibility for all phases of criminal prosecution from providing guidance to law enforcement officers, initiating criminal charges, conducting grand jury proceedings and trials, handling appeals, or asset forfeiture matters. Assistant U.S. Attorney, Albuquerque, N.M. The attorney selected will serve in the Civil Division in the Albuquerque office. In this capacity, the attorney will be assigned to litigate civil defensive cases, including torts, employment discrimination, Administrative Procedures Act cases, immigration cases, and miscellaneous actions. California Indian Legal Services

Staff Attorney, Bishop, C.A. This is a full-time position devoted to increasing and enhancing the legal services we provide to individuals with Indian law and non-Indian law issues, including general poverty law. Staff attorney will work with individuals, families, organizations and tribal governments in all areas of Federal Indian law, including but not limited to, advising on issues involving jurisdiction, tax, estate planning, trust assets, environmental law, natural resource development, cultural resource protection, Indian education, tribal governance, employment, tribal justice systems, and the Indian Child Welfare Act. Responsibilities may range from the provision of brief counsel and services to low income Indian individuals to representing individuals and tribes in state and federal court, negotiating contracts, advising tribal clients and developing and implementing constitutions, codes, and policies for tribal clients. Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation

Litigator, Nesplem, W.A. The abuse of opioids is a widespread problem on the Colville Reservation. The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation (“Tribes”) is issuing this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to qualified law firms interested in providing legal services consisting of representation in litigation against opioid manufacturers and distributors on behalf of the Tribes.
