American Indian Health and Family Services I-LEAD has five (5) paid apprenticeships available. These apprenticeships can help master the knowledge, skills, and behaviors to help you become successful. If interested, please submit a letter of interest that includes who you are, why you want to work at AIHFS, what types of experiences and skills you hope to gain or improve, and how this apprenticeship will help you achieve and reach your long term goals. Justices, Pine Ridge, S.D. The Supreme Court of the Oglala Sioux Nation is looking to fill three (3) Supreme Court Justice positions and one (1) Alternate Justice position. All Justices of the Supreme Court must have a Juris Doctorate from an A.B.A. accredited law school and must be licensed to practice law in any state or federal jurisdiction. Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission

Habitat Policy Analyst II, Olympia, W.A. The Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC) is looking for a Habitat Policy Analyst to provide policy analysis, support and coordination on emerging habitat issues for Commission and member tribes to advance habitat protection and restoration objective necessary to the protection of tribal treaty rights and resources. NWIFC is looking for someone with a Master’s degree in environmental science, public administration, legal or related fields and seven years of pertinent work experience. Legal Education Scholarship

The Indian Law Section (ILS) of the State Bar of Wisconsin was created in part to bring together those who have a special interest in Indian Law. In order to foster this special interest, the ILS intends to award a scholarship to a deserving third-year law student who intends to practice Indian Law in the state of Wisconsin. The award for the 2018-2019 school year will be $1,000. Future year award amounts are subject to change based upon student interest and ILS resources.
Applications must be postmarked no later than August 1, 2018 midnight central time. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The recipient will be notified by mid-June, and be formally recognized at the Annual Indian Law Section CLE.

Climate and Clean Energy Legal Fellow, Washington, D.C. NRDC is seeking an Attorney to serve as a Climate and Clean Energy Legal Fellow. This two-year fellowship is available starting immediately. The Fellow will focus on the administrative processes and expected litigation over agency actions to weaken climate, clean air, and clean energy standards, such as standards for power plants, vehicles, and other industries. Assistant United States Attorney, Phoenix, A.Z. The United States Attorney’s Office (USAO), District of Arizona, is seeking an experienced defensive Civil attorney to serve as a Civil Assistant United States Attorney in the Phoenix, Arizona office. The work of the Civil Division mirrors the varied activities of the federal government and offers a challenging and diverse caseload. Phoenix Civil Division AUSAs handle affirmative and defensive civil cases at both the trial and appellate level. Defensive matters include, employment discrimination claims, Bivens suits filed against federal employees, tort suits brought under the Federal Torts Claims Act, immigration, bankruptcy, land dispute matters, and prisoner litigation, among others. Assistant United States Attorney, Portland, O.R. This position is located in the Civil Division. Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) located in the Civil Division of our Portland office will be responsible for representing the United States and its departments, agencies, and employees in civil actions brought against the United States at both the trial and appellate levels. Program Manager, Washington D.C. This position serves as the Director, Office of Indian Education (OIE), Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE). The OIE administers the Indian Education Program, Title VI, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act. Brownbag Program: Every year, the Native American Bar Association of Washington, D.C. (NABA-DC) organizes events for summer interns working in the field of Indian law and policy.
